Ecoturf Surfacing recently completed two turn-key playground surfacing installations in Joplin, Missouri. Both of these locations were awarded money from the Missouri Waste Tire Grant fund. The surface is 95% recycled material, the color EPDM top coat is unable to be recycled, with 100% of the recycled material coming from Missouri waste tires.
The first location had wood mulch and plastic borders that were leaning to the side. Our crew removed the wood mulch and borders and installed a compacted rock sub-base. They then reinstalled the borders so that they were straight and no longer leaning. Once the site preparation was complete, the surfacing crew came in and poured the beige poured in place surface.
The second location had black rubber tiles. Our crew removed the tiles and installed a compacted rock sub-base. The surfacing crew then came in and installed their blue poured in place surface.
